Cruise through the Panama Canal
Cruising on HAL's Statendam
Friday, February 3rd, 2012 through Friday, February 17th, 2012
For our seventh cruise we're checking off a destination on our bucket list: the Panama Canal. We'll never get there on our own boat, so hitching a ride on Holland America Line's Statendam is the way to go. The Statendam is a sistership to two other ships we've sailed on: the Maasdam and the Ryndam. We like these smaller "S-Class" ships: less people, more elbow room and quite comfortable though they're 20 years old. This was a two week cruise with lots of time to relax while at sea, plus a bit of time to explore in Aruba, Costa Rica and Mexico.
